THE MAIN HOUSE / SANATORIUM
Built in 1908, this building typifies the architecture of the time, and in many respects mirrors the style of the early 20th century Karoo Victorian “ostrich” house. There are 5 units, each with a bedroom and kitchenette, sleeping two in a double bed and two in bunk beds (kids only).
The Main House was built before waterborne sewage was available, so there are no en-suite bathrooms, but to make up for this, each unit in the house has a private bathroom with a sumptuous walk-in roman bath and shower. Separate toilet facilities are shared and most folks feel this is a small price to pay for staying in a place over 100 years old and unspoiled by modernisation or alteration. It is still as it was, and we are proud to keep it that way.
